The main attraction in Lhasa is the marketplace outside of the Jokhang Temple. The marketplace is called the Barkhor. Monks and pilgrims circle the Jokhang in a clockwise procession. There are many booths with various souvenirs, carpets, and religious items for sale.

A Tibetian woman strolls about the Barkhor with her big brown coat tied around her waist.
